If you have ever experienced shin pain and bruising you know how it can ruin your precious week’s skiing.
Ski angel is a thin pad of revolutionary friction reducing gel. When placed under the sock ski angel prevents ‘shin bite’ and bruising caused by your shin rubbing against the boot’s inner lining.
Ski Angel is a sheet of bonded gel which when placed over the projecting tibial crest effectively removes the friction zone 2mm outwards and away from the skin surface. > The new shear force area is now happening between the outer area of the Ski Angel and the boot. > Ski Angel composition allows for extremes of shear force with it’s unique elasticity.
Bruised and aching shins are a fact of ski boots. This is because the intensive action of skiing creates considerable friction upon the Anterior Crest of the lower Tibia bone. This unusual crest runs almost the entire length of the Tibia and has virtually no subcutaneous protection which is why bruising so readily occurs. Despite the extensive padding offered on the modern ski boot this fails to solve the problem. The reason being that the padding is attached to the boot so the friction pressure zone is still at the skin surface interface with the boot. Some downhill racers are known to shave their legs in an attempt to decrease friction at this tibial interface.
